Last orders for Merry Andrew

by andy on 17th July 2008

This evening I delivered the very last three cases of bottled Merry Andrew from the gyle we brewed back in March. They went to Steyning Threshers and started selling the moment I arrived. A customer, seeing them delivered picked up three for his son’s 18th birthday party, more or less guaranteeing that the son won’t remember too much about it.

It takes two months to age a batch of Merry Andrew properly, so assuming we don’t hit any other little snags I expect to have the first batch of Merry Andrew brewed in our own plant available for the Horsham beer festival (click on the news link) on Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st September.

There is one other chance to try it in the meanwhile however, one of our few remaining casks has been reserved by the Ale at Amberley festival. Amberley is a working museum and its well worth a visit even without the beer. With the beer, you couldn’t find a better place to while away a late summer weekend.
