The Adur Brewery, nestled in the heart of the South Downs is reviving a centuries old tradition of brewing in the Adur Valley. The brewery has been commissioned and installed and we are waiting for the final official approvals to begin operation.
During the early stages, one beer in particular, Merry Andrew, has found an audience with both pub landlords and a few selected tasters. It will be available in small quantities in bottles, mini-kegs, and firkins from April 2008.
Regular production started Tuesday the 19th August.
- Complex aroma. Very good balanced, rounded flavour. Initial sweetness nicely balanced by dryer middle and end.
- Sweet start, bitter finish. Old Ale? Punching above its weight.
- Smells good and tastes very good. I like dark ales so this fits the bill. 9/10
- Dark, aromatic, full of flavour(s), strong but not ridiculously so and very, very moreish
